Purified Cannabidiol Cream Can Help Reduce Inflammation in MS

December 3, 2015

New research in a controlled animal study shows topical cream containing one percent purified CBD, a non-psychoactive component in marijuana, may help reduce damage from diseases that cause brain inflammation, such as Multiple Sclerosis.

The study, which was published in Daru: Journal of Faculty and Pharmacy, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, tested CBD topical cream on healthy mice and mice with experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (the most commonly used form of MS)”as models for humans with multiple sclerosis.”

Findings show CBD cream helped reduce damage caused by experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, including improvement in muscle function and reduction in inflammation.
