A Fitness Facility Specifically For Those with Movement Disorders

October 27, 2015

A facility nicknamed “MDFC” may look from the outside like a normal gym, but it is actually a gym specialized for those living with movement disorders. The leader of Movement Disorders Fitness Center, Craig Marks, has been working exclusively with people living with diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease since 1995.

The MDFC staff pushes the envelope of traditional therapy by incorporating strength training and non-traditional training methods to help each one of our clients regain their independence and confidence. They create individualized training programs designed to get the most out of each client based on their comprehensive evaluation process.

They offer a variety of different programs for patients with different levels of mobility such as:

  • Private Training
  • Hi-Intensity Interval Training
  • Non-Contact Boxing
  • Stair Training
  • Mountain Biking
  • Yoga
  • Zumba
  • Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy
If you visit the gym's website, there are countless testimonials and stories of patients who were on hard times before meeting Craig, and described being rejuvenated after just a session or two with him. Fitness is known as a great way to combat Multiple Sclerosis, and they emphasize the word “can” in order to show that with continued effort, anyone can achieve positive results.
