5 Lesser-Known Ways to Boost Your Energy

Fatigue is an extremely common felt symptom of MS. Nothing feels better than gaining a ton of energy to fuel you through your already tiresome day. Here are some helpful things you can do to boost your energy levels and keep you going.

1.     Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy has an amazing way of working, especially when you need an energy boost! Taking in the smell of cinnamon or even peppermint will energize and motivate you while increasing your sense of alertness. Some other smells that are great for a quick boost are the smells of oranges and other citrus fruits such as lemons and grapefruit.


2.    Take a break from technology

Technology is exhausting us. When receiving a notification, whether it be a text from a friend or a Facebook notification, a rush of adrenalin surges through our bodies. Becoming focused on staying connected and experiencing these little bursts of adrenalin work their way to tire you out. Put your phone on do not disturb and unplug for a while in order to let your body rest and store up some energy.


3.    Massage your ears

Yep, that’s right. Give your ears some loving and look up different ear-massaging techniques. It is important to make sure you do this properly so you can release the endorphins your body is in need of. Doing so helps calm the nervous system by increasing blood circulation and directly boosts your energy.


4.    Give Feng Shui a try

In more of a spiritual sense, clean up the clutter that is surrounding you, on your work desk or around your room. While cleaning up sounds like a drag, you will most definitely feel relief that in the fact that you don’t have to look at crumbs and clutter surrounding you. This increases your energy while also making you more efficient.


5.    Improve your posture


Believe it or not, your posture could be making you a little sleepy. If you do so, make sure to stop slumping your shoulders and sit with your body aligned correctly so you reduce fatigue as best as possible. Always be aware of your posture, whether you are sitting at your work desk or just standing around.
