Medical Biller
Patient Coordinator
Registered Nurse

All positions and duties may change and or vary based on needs of each department.
Medical Biller
Knowledge of business and accounting processes is a must. Business Administration, Accounting or Health Care Administration degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years in medical billing, including verification, authorizations, postings, strong collections, handling of claims and appeals from insurance companies. Candidate should have prior Medicare claim experience.
Performs the following duties:

Translate codes into insurance companies’ preferred coding system
-
Prepare the appropriate claims documents required by each insurer
-
Submit, organize and track all insurance claims filed by the health care provider
-
Follow-up until payment is received, and manage collections activities when necessary
In addition, medical billers are also required to perform a variety of cross functional tasks. These often include answering patient questions on billing, arranging payment plans for those who need them.
Patient Coordinator
Manage referral request for new and established referral sources.
Build and maintain relationships with clinicians and patients. Must have strong medical background including 5+ years experience and strong communication skills.
Performs the following duties:

Responsible for new patient referrals and intake

Act as liaison between referral source and patient

Communicate and maintain relationships with referral sources

Assist patients with non clinical needs
Registered Nurse
Experienced Registered Nurse to provide nursing services associated with the implanted pump therapies. Must have strong IV skills, prior home care experience a plus. Management experience is preferred and the ability to independently manage patient case load.
Performs the following duties:
Admissions
Dose adjustments
Assessments
Follow-ups and refills for patients
In addition other responsibilities may include: training, preceptor & marketing roles.
There may be significant traveling involved throughout the course of a day.
Receptionist
Experienced administrative professional to promote safe delivery of quality patient care services. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Performs the following duties:

Answer high volume of calls
-
Screen calls as appropriate
-
Take messages for administrative and clinical staff
In addition this position may entail typing, filing, mailing and tracking patient correspondence and other clerical tasks as assigned.
Pharmacist
Position requires current New Jersey certification. Experience in Intrathecal therapies or hospital setting is preferred. Must have general knowledge in compounding and 797 USP guidelines.
Performs the following duties:

Daily compounding

Liaison between clinic staff
-
Refilling and management of all intrathecal prescriptions
This position may include, but is not limited to assisting in coordination of all daily pharmacy activities consistent with New Jersey State and Federal regulations laws. Perform functions as a pharmacist related to medication preparation and clinical functions and interaction with medical staff.

Internship Program
The Basic Home Infusion Internship Program is a selective, paid experience providing undergraduate students and recent alumni with meaningful, challenging, and supportive professional exposure. The focus of our Internship Program is to assist interns in building on individual goals and skill sets through gradual inclusion into the non-clinical aspects of a successful healthcare company. Interns gain practical, translatable, hands-on experience through the mentor-ship of highly skilled industry professionals within the following departments of our corporate office:

Benefits
BHI grants interns the opportunity to select projects tailored to the advancement of their specific field of study and professional ambitions in addition to structured assignments. We offer flexibility of internship length and the scheduling of intern hours in order to accommodate coursework.
Interns are compensated at $10 per hour to start, and there exists the possibility of permanent, full-time job placement upon graduation or the conclusion of the internship.
Requirements
We are currently accepting applications for candidates of varying majors with areas of interest in all departments listed above. The ideal candidate will be highly self-motivated, possess an interest in the healthcare field, exhibit solid communication skills, and have a strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications. In addition, the following criteria must be met in order to qualify for this program:

Junior or senior currently enrolled in a college/university degree program OR recent alumni of such a program

Minimum GPA of 3.0
